Persecuted Christians ask for prayer more than any other thing. The purpose of the Voice of the Martyrs is to serve persecuted Christians through practical and spiritual assistance. They also link western believers with those who face persecution. Utmost, are their resources for praying. They offer two resources for helping Christians who face persecution on a daily basis.
New Resources
One excellent resource is the 2018 VOM prayer calendar. It suggests prayer needs for each day of the year. This calendar encourages daily praying for brothers and sisters in need.
Posting the calendar where you daily view it is one way of making your concern for those who suffer for Christ part of your spiritual DNA. The calendar includes beautiful monthly photographs of Christians in need of prayer as well as suggestions on how to pray. Contact VOM and ask for their prayer calendar (cost $1).
A second resource is their new phone application for both iPhone and androids. If you have an iPhone, go to The Voice of the Martyrs’ mobile application on iTunes. You can find the application for android phones on Google Play. Follow the directions to download the application to your phone. It will send you one prayer need every day. This application aligns with the daily prayer calendar mentioned above.
Additional Resources
For students, I highly recommend the “I-AM-N” black wristband (only $1 each). This is a way of reminding students to pray often for Christians suffering under persecution. 50% of the purchase price will be used to support Christians facing Islamic extremists.
There is also a two-foot by three-foot world map poster (two pack) and a four-foot by six-foot world map banner that identifies areas where persecution is most prevalent. These are excellent reminders when posted in various places in the Church. They help keep the needs of suffering Christians foremost in your mind and heart. The cost is $7 and $35 respectively. Smaller and larger maps are also available for church and home use.

Guest Speaker for Your Event
I offer a one-, two-, or three-part presentation on the Persecuted Family. These talks include videos and PowerPoint slide support. I’ve gathered resources from several missions organizations that offer valuable insights on Christian persecution and how we can engage in a support ministry for those who suffer for their faith in Christ.
The one-time talk is useful as a Sunday morning or evening sermon, or a Sunday school class for older teens through mature adults. The two- and three-part presentations are used for mission conferences and weekend retreats. The content is sobering but seasoned with lots of encouragement and practical things to do to care for Christians in need. People often leave this presentation in tears and motivated to prioritize caring for Christians under persecution. Contact me through my website’s contact page.
