A new movie release in time for Easter. Click on this banner for a behind-the-scenes clip!

Pilgrim’s Progress is a story about  Christian, a husband who goes on a journey to find the Celestial City. He faces trials and temptations along the way and as he does he learns how faith in Jesus Christ develops. This is a story for children of all ages and hopefully, it will motivate them to read the book.

Bunyon wrote the original story during his incarceration for preaching the gospel. The book was first published in 1678. Pilgrim’s Progress is a story about the spiritual journey of a Christian.  This novel uses allegory to symbolize various aspects of the Christians life. And now, over three hundred years later, the story can be viewed through a thrilling animated form. If you have read the book you’ll love the movie. Below is the trailer. I think you will enjoy it.

Read the Book

Here are some options if you desire to purchase the book. I suggest reading the book before watching the movie to get the most out of the story. You could read the story to your whole family, it’s that good.

Great edition for children and read aloud sessions

A great version for most audiences is The Pilgrim’s Progress, Deluxe Illustrated edition published by Crossway in 2009. You can order it by clicking on the book cover to the right. As of the date of this blog, the retail price is $26.99 but through this website, you can save 44% and the cost lowers to $14.99. This is a version of the book you will keep for a long time.

Original Old English version

If you’re interested in John Bunyon’s original text, then the Wordsworth edition of Pilgrim’s Progress in paperback is a good option. And, it’s less expensive at only $5.99 (a 25% savings from the retail price). Be aware that this version is written in Old English, which makes it more difficult to understand for younger readers. Order this version by clicking on the book cover to the left.

Print and Audio versions together

For those of you looking for an amazing bargain, check out The Pilgrim’s Progress book and MP3 Audio files in the Hendrickson Christian Classics Audio Series. This version was published in 2011. Stephen Johnston, an Emmy Award Winning narrator, is the voice. The book retails for $16.95, but at the date of this blog, the price is 75% off at only $4.29. Again, the print version is in Old English as is the audio recording. Click on the book cover to the right to order it.
